This is me:
When I was little, I used to love writing and had an imagination and a half. Not so long ago, my Mum recently found and showed me a 'book' I'd written - I don't recall the exact details of the plot, but it was something to do with fairies (everything was related to fairies when I was a kid) and an abandoned cottage in the middle of a forest. Kind of like Tinkerbell meets the Blair Witch, except I'm sure there was a happy ending and probably a handsome prince.
Having not picked up a pen for years, I joined the Writers Forum at Cracked.com and after pitching many terrible ideas, I finally found one that worked. That was over a year ago, and as at this moment, I have had a further four articles published with another one in progress and due to be finished in the next week or so. It's great to be writing again, although I have missed unleashing the imagination that was always at the forefront when I was a child - Cracked's success is based around unexpected factual information, so there's a fairly solid structure we need to stick to.
This is why the blog has started - somewhere were I can write about whatever I want. Don't get me wrong, I love writing for Cracked and I love how many readers get to see my work there. It's just great to have another outlet, one for all the writing stuff that doesn't fall strictly under 'factual', somewhere where I can (hopefully) build skills to compliment those I've learned from the fantastic editors and fellow writers at Cracked.
I have no idea where this blog will lead me. I don't know what's going to happen when I am no longer a bride-to-be but a happily wedded wife - a Wifezilla series maybe. What I do know is that I'm having great fun here - and if only one person reads this and smiles, then that is good enough for me.
Although obviously, thousands of followers that visit and smile regularly would be absolutely bloody brilliant.
